X-RAY

X-ray inspection utilizes an X-ray source and detector to produce an image of the inside of an object. X-ray radiation is absorbed at rates that correlate with the density of the medium that the radiation is passing through. X-ray imagery has been around for a long time, but with the advent of electronic sensors that can produce X-ray imagery without necessity for utilizing film processing, new applications are being developed at a rapid pace.

In terms of catalytic substrate production, the most common use for X-ray technology is for determining the process characteristics of a coating process. Miralogix offers X-Ray inspection as part of its CATPRO series in conjunction with strategic partners that specialize in X-Ray imaging. Miralogix brings its inspection process control technology and its image processing expertise to the table to enhance the capabilities of these systems as they are applied to catalytic substrates.
